How are these displays readable in sunlight?
Colour TFT displays rely on a backlight to show up the image and, when incident light is much brighter than the backlight, the image can become difficult to see. Our range of sunlight readable displays overcomes this by increasing the brightness of the backlight, generally to 800 cd/M² or greater. This makes the displays much easier to read in well-lit environments, whether inside or outdoors.
We use the latest high efficiency LEDs to ensure this brightness comes with minimised power consumption and heat dissipation.
In addition to this increased brightness, we can create a truly high-performance, sunlight readable display by increasing the contrast ratio of the display as well. We can do this by adding custom optical enhancements to standard displays to reflect incident light, which can also add to the physical ruggedness of the display.
